Restaurateur John Gorham just opened two restaurants inside of Pine Street Market, the new downtown food hall, and now, just two weeks later, he's opened a third. Located at 1128 SW Alder St. across the street from Tasty n Alder, Pollo Bravo on Alder is a tapas and wine bar, and just like the first Pollo Bravo located inside PSM, it serves Spanish wines, vermouths, snacks, small plates, and a specialty rotisserie chicken inspired by the rotisseries of Spain and Mexico.
Already, you may be able to hear the gentle moans of customers gnawing on that chicken. Gorham and Pollo Bravo executive chef Josh Scofield developed the recipe while touring Madrid, Barcelona, and other areas of Spain, as well as eating Chicken Carbon in Mexico. On the menu you'll also find tapas, and if Pollo Bravo on Alder is anything like the PSM location, you'll find things like olives, bacon-wrapped dates, salt cod fritters, and papas bravas.
And what if you want to grab a half chicken, a bottle of Spanish wine, and binge watch Game of Thrones? You can do that, too: Pollo Bravo sells chickens to-go and will have a small retail selection including wines.
Starting today, Pollo Bravo on Alder is open Wednesday through Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.. Starting May 25, it will be open seven days a week.
