PoMo's Karen Brooks continues the slow trickle of information about Gruner chef Chris Israel's new taco concept. As previously reported, Israel will team with ChefStable's Kurt Huffman to open an as-yet-unnamed Mexican restaurant in the former Pinot American Brasserie space. Today comes word that the menu will be inspired by "the Mexican mainstays of Southern California, the foods of [Israel's] youth, from tamales to quesadillas, with seafood as a signature." In other words: fish tacos. New projected opening date: May. [Eat Beat]
