Freelance pastry chef Kristen D. Murray, recently landed at Cacao, just launched/baked/sliced her first contribution to southwest downtown's killer chocolate shop. An Eater operative stopped in on Sunday to pick up some Michel Cluizel Maracaibo and spotted her very first collaboration, right on the counter where Cacao co-owner Jesse Manis' left hand is now: a walnut cake with candied quince. No word on whether it, like the sample cake that same operative tried a few weeks ago, includes parsnips, but it'll be interesting to see what else this Barbara Lynch alum gets up to in the back room in between drinking all the chocolates and trying all the DePaula caramels.
