SOUTHEAST -- Accanto, a "casual Italian enoteca with an emphasis on local and seasonal ingredients," opens tomorrow in the same building (and will be run by the same team) as the new Genoa. Menu offerings include coppa de testa, wild boar ragu paninis, pasta all chitarra, braised pork shanks, and pear almond tart. Executive chef is David Anderson, who'll be splitting his time between this small plate wine bar and the neighboring seriousness of Genoa 2.0.
DOWNTOWN -- The Holiday Ale Festival starts day after tomorrow, December 2, in Pioneer Courthouse Square. Cost is $20 for a tasting package, which includes a souvenir mug and ten beer sampling tickets. Which, if you got five times, would let you taste all the Belgians and Stouts and Porters and Barleywines you could ever probably not handle.
