Pearl District: Things don't look good for popular Pearl District eatery, Holden's Bistro. Their website is having "some trouble" here. And a note on the door indicates that the landlord (they same one that owns the property of the nearby, now vacant, Olea) has put a lien on the space (see photo right). A recent review on Citysearch here indicates that indeed Holden's "was a local favorite" but seems to have fallen out of favor in the past few months. Eater has calls into Holden's, which still has a working phone.
Downtown: The rumor mill is going strong (and we have to emphasis this is just rumor) with the idea that Ruth's Chris Steakhouse is on the move. Sources say that one of the best spots in town to get a NY Strip wants to move away from the strip joint-friendly "meat packing" district of Southwest Third Avenue (where strippers hang out in front of not one, but two, establishments) to the more tourist-friendly intersection of Southwest Broadway and Taylor Street. "No comment," was all Ruth Chris's would say in response to Eater's inquiry.
