2009, Described In One Word

New, 1 comment

As is the tradition at Eater, it's time for the annual Year in Eater survey. For the Portland version, we asked a group of notable chefs, cooks, and people we know a bunch of questions. Responses are related in no particular order; all are cut, pasted and unedited herein. This morning, we looked at the Top Restaurant Standbys. Now, let's take a breather from the lists and go for 2009, described in one word.

Tommy Habetz, Bunk Sandwiches: Carts

Kimberly & Vitaley Paley, Paley's Place: Survival!

Naomi Pomeroy, Beast: Miraculous

Andrea Slonecker: Persevering

Bruce Carey, Bluehour, 23Hoyt, Saucebox: hard-boiled

Chris Israel, Gruner:Amazing!

Jamie Dunn, Gilt Club: Better

Andy Ricker , Pok Pok, Ping: Unpredictable

Roger Porter, The Oregonian: Happy Hours.

Louisa Neumann: Foodcart (That's 2 words though!)

Mike Thelin: Resourceful.

Bette Sinclair: Fragile.

Andrew Fortgang, Le Pigeon: Tidal
