American Flatbread: Yay or Nay?

New, 2 comments

Word hit the streets this week that Vermont-based pizzeria American Flatbread was planning on opening up a spot--LEED-certified, no less!--in the North Park Blocks. The Willamette Week already got all up in that 'bread, citing AF as one of their top three picks for the upcoming year, and the murmurings have been positive. Until a tipster wrote:

A little bird told me that Portland Flatbread (on the North Park Blocks) will not happen as their financing fell through. You may try to confirm this through Urbanworks Real Estate. Tough break as they had already installed their wood fired oven and been getting some love from the Willamette Week.
A call to Urban Works Real Estate, the firm responsible for the deal as well as the people who got Gruner their 12th & Alder space were met with a sound-sounding denial from the front desk: "According to Kathleen Healy, who worked on that deal, as far as we’re concerned, it’s not falling through."

The dough rises! So we put it to you: is it, or isn't it? Know anything? Let it slip.
