The hands behind Pacific Pie Company, makers of some of the city's best-loved Australian-style meat pies (even if without the Ned Ludd-style exclamation point), are opening a standalone shop at 609 SE Ankeny this Wednesday, aka tomorrow, according to the Monthly's Kaitlyn Evans. Because it's Portland, "the pies are made with local ingredients, including pastured lamb from SuDan Farm in the Willamette Valley, Sweet Briar Farms pork, and sustainably harvested flour from Shepherds Grain." Word is there's even a little Vegemite to be found. [Portland Plated]
