Scott Shampine, who has cooked in what seems like every restaurant in the city — including Bluehour, A Cena, Gracie's (where he created a twenty-something dollar burger) and the long-closed Olea — is the new executive chef at Davis Street Tavern.
Shampine has already been with Davis Street for the last few months, quietly playing an advisory role and helping out in the kitchen (especially since the departure of former chef Gabriel Kapustka earlier this fall). Recently Shampine decided he'd like to step up his game and serve in a more high-profile role as Davis Street's executive chef. Expect the change-over to happen in the very near future.
