Lots of restaurants remain open on Thanksgiving (to cater to those too lazy — like ourselves — to be bothered to cook up a feast, but Irving Street Kitchen's Sarah Schafer is taking things a step further, helping the less fortunate celebrate the ultimate day of fat-assery. Now through Friday, those looking to give back to the local community can purchase a Thanksgiving meal (with all the trimmings) on behalf of a family in need from the ISK kitchen, which is pairing with Multnomah County’s Commission on Children, Families & Community to deliver the goods to recently united families on Thanksgiving Day. A $45 donation nets a brined organic turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, collard greens, and biscuits to feed three people (the same to-go deal can be had for your greedy self, as well, if that's more your route). All orders — donated and otherwise — must be placed by this Friday.
