Co-Owner: Eater Effed Up; The View Point Inn is Still Cooking

Contrary to published reports here at Eater, co-owner Angelo Simione tells us that the View Point Inn is still cooking in the Columbia Gorge. After former chef Drew Lockett gave an interview to Eater, which kicked off a firestorm of comments from the Internets, we reported that the Inn had shuttered last week — not so, says Simione.

According to Simione, Lockett was terminated from his position at the inn, and chef Joe Rubbo has since stepped into Lockett's shoes ("The food is quite beautiful, the presentation is excellent, it tastes quite excellent," Simione says. "We're very happy with him"), and things are business as usual: Tomorrow night, the Inn is throwing a benefit on behalf of the March of Dimes, and the long-rumored reality TV show is still in the works. "So we're very much moving ahead at this point," Simione says. "What we want to see is this Inn be here for generations to come."
