Competition Alert: Deschutes Brewery's Chefs Challenge

Another week, another excuse for chefs to drink and duke it out, all for a good cause. The Deschutes Brewery's second-annual "Chefs Challenge" will kick off next Monday (December 13), featuring six chefs — David Anderson (Genoa), Ben Dyer (Ate-Oh-Ate), Adam Higgs (Acadia), Kurt Spak (of the soon-to-shutter Alba Osteria), Scott Shampine (newly instated in Davis Street Tavern), and Deschutes' own Jeff Usinowicz — competing to create a signature dish, complete with a perfect beer pairing.

A panel of celebrity judges will decide the winner, with a popular "People's Choice" trophy also up for grabs. Proceeds from the $75 all-inclusive ticket benefit Morrison Child & Family Services.
