The Oregonian's Jeff Manning reports that Trader Vic's tiki bar is eying the massive (7,900-square-foot) Pearl space that once housed Manzana Rotisserie Grill. According to the piece, Kelly's Olympian developer Ben Stutz is involved in the project, which will bring Trader Vic's back to Portland after it decamped from its space in the Benson Hotel in 1996.
The news follows Ruth's Chris Steakhouse's announced move into downtown, not to mention the still-recent opening Old Town opening of Hamburger Mary's, another chain with old roots in PDX. OMG chain invasion!
