Two Northwest Trendy-Third places--one a local outpost of a six-location Portland brewing company, the other a standard wine-and-panini bar--are currently closed for renovation. Laurelwood Public House, above, on Kearney between 23rd and 24th, will be undergoing an internal facelift to its 1902 home while Cafe Reese, down on 23rd and Thurman, has been under renovation since January 26th. No word on when the latter's slated to reopen--a sign in the window says only that "We look forward to seeing you after our reopening!!"--but word is Laurelwood's coming back into business sometime around the end of April. Which is just in time for all the Nob Hillers to start sunning themselves on the patio. And drinking. On the patio.
