Jennifer Buehler, chef at David Machado's southeast (of Portland) Mediterranean restaurant Lauro Kitchen, will be honored next month by the Pear Bureau Northwest as part of their Pear Panache program. (Click the link. Really. Click it.) From the Bureau:
"We’ve seen, tasted and photographed pears in every recipe imaginable (or so we’d like to think!), so when we honor a chef for her pear creativity, it’s the real deal."Word is the winning recipe is a braised lamb shank with caramelized pears, which sounds both creative and pear-y, but no insight yet into her other pear-tastic dishes. Developing... as, of course, are the pear-y hilarious puns.
