Relative Sobriety

Despite Patrick Alan Coleman's best efforts at whisky-fying (and more) this little town, and despite general rumors to the contrary vis a vis the success of bars and breweries and general insanity, it turns out that Portland is not, in fact, the epicenter of drunken shenanigans. It is, in fact, only the fortieth drunkest city in the US, way below Austin (which is sort of Texas' Portland) and even Lexington, Tampa, and Boise City. Cities more sober than Portland include Memphis, Columbus (Ohio), and New York, with Boston topping the list as "least drunk." Dubious honors all the way round. [USA Today]
