Northwest restaurant Wildwood, one of those parents-appropriate alphabet district places (here's looking at you, Serratto, Mingo, Papa Haydn aka Marie Callenders-of-23rd), just launched an eight-week (possibly longer) series of wine pairing dinners. Every Wednesday, chef Dustin Clark is teaming up with sommelier Jeff Moore, focusing on a winery, and rocking Pacific Northwest face. Last night was all about J. Christopher Wines. Next Wednesday Chehalem Wines gets the attention, then L'Ecole No. 41, then Elk Cove, and then more. Three courses, available anytime between 5:30pm and 9pm. The intrigue here is in the upswing - this is no Metrovino $5 burger special, no extended happy hour list. So it makes economically sensitive operatives wonder: with Tuesday's epic Fenouil event and now this, are things finally on the upswing?
