Godiva Bids Downtown Portland Adieu

This Saturday marks the last day for the downtown location of Godiva Chocolatier in Pioneer Place (the Washington Square store has no plans of closing). This comes hot on the heels of the announcement that nearby retailer Saks Fifth Avenue is closing two locations in downtown Portland. Despite rumors to the contrary, Pioneer Place's other chocolate-centric outlet, Moonstruck, is keeping its ground-floor kiosk open. For an easier transition, Pioneer Place's Godiva is marking down all your upcoming bunny basket needs by at least 25-percent. Overheard from a Saks-going, Godiva-eating tipster: "It's going to look like a ghost town in here."
