Matador Wins Big, Coleman Named Most Best Writer at the Barfly Awards

In a couple of fast and furious, finger-flying hours, the votes were texted and tabulated Sunday night for the 2010 Barfly Awards. West Burnside's Matador was the event's Hurt Locker, picking up the triple crown of Bestest Deejay Ever, Dreamiest Server and Craftiest Cook. The Merc’s food critic Patrick Alan Coleman earned the coveted and well-deserved prize of Most Good Writer, wresting it from the claws of fellow Merc writers Erik Henrikson and Matt Davis and Jay Horton of Willamette Week and Barfly. For evidence of Coleman's "most good-ness," follow his tweets leading up to the coronation. Winners, nominees, and those who follow them plan to gather tonight at Report Lounge for a post-ceremony shingdig. According to Barfly,

if you wear your sash (winners and nominees, alike) to Report (1101 East Burnside), tonight, Monday, April 12th, you'll get half-off everything. Including your pants, if you stay long enough.
