Hawaiian Time has laid claim to the Pearl District space that was the former home of Chow and was, until very recently, supposed to become the latest venue in Micah Camden's ever-growing empire : Little Big Burger. According to Karen Brook's last Oregonian entry Camden had even signed a lease on the space. But that's not to be. Hawaiian Time is a chain of authentic "plate lunch" joints (plate lunch translates to two scoops of rice, one scoop of macaroni and your choice of meat or veggies) with several locations in Eugene, Vancouver, Beaverton, and now, Northwest Portland. The owners are shooting for an opening date of early to mid-May. As for Camden and where Little Big Burger might land? That's still up in the air (for now).
