The Patrick Coleman obsession known as Pitxi (the Merc writer refers to it as a "little cult restaurant") is up and going on North Portland's Lombard Street. It will be interesting to see if Pitxi's (pronounced "pee-chee") notoriously tight NoPo neighbors will warm up to a menu where every single entree item is $18, and like some other fancy joints around town, includes the following phrase "substitutions politely declined." Here's a peek at last Friday's menu. Notice that the mushroom patty includes stinging nettles and the pork features something called "isreali (sic) couscous." This could get interesting.
