What happens when the top culinaristas converge on a city at the same time a chef in that city picks up a Best New Chef Award from Food and Wine magazine? Well, good luck landing a reservation at Castagna this week. Word is it's going to be next to impossible over the next few nights to get a seat at owner Monique Siu's eatery—Castagna is open Wednesday to Saturday—because every visiting IACP'er worth his or her culinary chops is looking to take a bite out of Chef Matt Lightner's menu now that he's been bestowed the F&W honor. Karen Page and Andrew Dorenburg already indicated they'll be dropping in. Table-watching at Castagna, at least for the coming week, might just rival Lightner's winning touch with food.
