The lazy folks at the soon-to-open Coalition Brewing Company want you to brew their beer for them. Actually, they’ll be opening in May with three beers of their own, brewed in a traditional Northwest style. But they’ll also have a small pilot system in place for experimentation. The idea is that there will always be one beer on tap made by an outside collaborator. Owners Elan Walsky and Kiley Hoyt studied at the Siebel Institute of Technology and World Brewing Academy, and their brewmaster is Bruce MacPhee, who used to be with Deschutes. The brewpub is set to open in about a month at S.E. Ankeny and 27th, in the old Noble Rot building. Stay tuned, if you’re not afraid of a little collectivism.
