Irving Street Kitchen Sets a Date

With a simple sheet and some spray paint, the bold-named San Francisco restaurateurs behind the Bay's seafood-centric Anchor & Hope and Town Hall confirm the rumored opening date of their first PDX venture, the Irving Street Kitchen. Formerly home to Bay 13, the NW 13th and Irving space commandeered by Doug Washington, Steven Rosenthal, and Mitchell Rosenthal welcomes former Anchor & Hope executive chef Sarah Schafer into the eponymous kitchen. According to the official website — which thankfully, is much spiffier than its fly-by-night sign — her menu will serve up highbrow bar snacks (poutine with ham hock gravy!) and entrees (slow-roasted duck; 24-hour smoked short ribs), 4:30pm to midnight, seven days a week. Maybe all it takes to break the Dead Zone curse is a few intrepid out-of-towners — and poutine in the NW certainly won't hurt.
