It's about damn time. For a city so freakin' obsessed with its food carts, you'd think that NW 23rd — one of its biggest window-shopping neighborhoods — would have more to offer in the way of eating mobile than just the (awesome!) Frying Scotsman, which sits near the end of the street at NW Raleigh. PBJ's, a grilled gourmet peanut butter and jelly cart that made its debut last Saturday at WWeek's Eat Mobile festival, sets up shop smack-dab in the middle of the thoroughfare (at NW Kearney and 23rd), beginning this week.
And despite the construction nightmare that's been plaguing other area restaurants (see the sexy
bulldozer scoop-loader in the background of the pic), business is brisk. PBJ's serves up sweet and savory sandwiches featuring homemade peanut butter, Dagoba chocolate, and intriguing combinations like the Spicy Thai (co-owner Shane Chapman's fave) Tuesday through Sunday, 10am to 6pm. Consider us grilled.
