Nuvrei Pastries To Open Upstairs Cafe

If you share a chocolate chip cookie obsession with former Oregonian restaurant guru Karen Brooks, you'll be stoked that Nuvrei Pastries is expanding into a proper cafe right above the old one in the thick of the Pearl. Now, when you get a craving for a blackberry scone or buttery croissant, you need to pick your way down into the cramped subterranean bakery (or stake out the delivery truck as it makes its rounds). But the fashionable pastries (with salads, sandwiches, macaroons and more) will soon be available with sunlight and tables. They're shooting for an early May opening.
