In the mood to rub elbows with some of Portland's finest food writers? Ahem: Eater's not included; but Portland Monthly's Mike Thelin, Portland Culinary Alliance executive director Andrea Slonecker, and prolific food freelancer Lucy Burningham are among the Portland contingent road-tripping up to Seattle for "Food Writing for Food Lovers," a workshop run by Northwest cookbook author and editor Dianne Jacobs. The badly punned "Foodportunity" seminar, scheduled for May 22 at downtown Seattle's Fairmont Olympic Hotel, will include workshops about interviewing, blogging, and cookbook-writing — more important, it'll be a networking schmoozefest. Print up some extra business cards; tickets are still available online.
