DOWNTOWN: The adorable Elizabeth Montes announced today that her highly addictive Sahagun Chocolate Shop will scale back its hours to focus more on wholesale orders — the home of the KA-POW! bar is now open for business only on Saturdays, from 10am to 6pm.
SOUTHEAST: Whiffies Fried Pies celebrates its one-year anniversary this Saturday by crowning its Pie Champ 2.0 — via an eating contest that determines who can eat the most Whiffies pies over the course of an hour. Good luck with that, kids.
NORTHEAST:NE 28th's Tabla Mediterranean Bistro launched a new $3-5 tapas menu this week, described as "10-12 rotating items that will be served from 5:30-6:30 seven nights a week at the bars and outside." Note: The one-hour-a-day, only-at-the-bars menu is NOT to be confused with happy hour, because "the food is articulated and thoughtful and amazing."
PIG FIGHT: Major kudos to whoever's behind the only memorabilia shop dedicated to further exploiting the Bechard/Lowe/porkfest fistcuffs story: Get your Gettingpiggywithit aprons, tees, and coffee mugs, while supplies last.
