SOUTHEAST: Pine State Biscuits garners a great shout-out from Bon Appetit magazine, which named the breakfast-sandwich pros one of the "Top 10 Best Places for Fried Chicken" in the U.S.: Further proof that beautiful things happen when fried chicken meets cheese (in the form of the Reggie sandwich).
NORTH PORTLAND: After encouraging patrons on N. Mississippi to "discover the exciting flavors of Japanese food," TaiYou marked its grand opening in the former Lovely Hula Hands space. Early gawkers at the menu note that aside from the special mystery ramen, there's not much that looks "exciting."
SOUTHEAST: Lured in by bright lights, big city, one-month-old Japanese-fusion hot dog cart DomoDogs, formerly based outside Tigard's H-Mart, settled into a new spot on 2623 SE Belmont. Four words, one hyphen, people: sake-steamed hot dogs.
