Tasty n Sons, Olympic Provisions, and Two Quickie Newbie Reviews

For the big guns in this week's Week in Reviews, everything that's been done has been read before. The Oregonian's David Sarasohn reiterates last week's raves for Tasty n Sons' game-changing brunch. WWeek's Kelly Clarke chats with Olympic Provisions' Elias Cairo about his salami, and gives high marks to the charcuterie, fish, and veggie dishes alike ("Best pork and beans ever.")

So for a taste of something fresh, we're heading to our own comments for takes on recent openings. The just-launched Kin gets strong kudos for its desserts, crafted by Chicago top chef Kevin Shikami: "Kevin is acting as pastry chef for now and it shows — the chocolate tart with pecans, caramel and cookie crust was one of the best desserts I have lately." And over at chain Hawaiian Time, a less-favorable exchange: "The Hawaiian Time in the Pearl tasted like mall food-court food." Can't all be winners.
