Thanks to the fervor surrounding his tapas joint Toro Bravo, John Gorham's brunch spot Tasty n Sons opened to much fanfare in March, and the first batch of reviews are in: Simply put, it's so damn good, Patrick Alan Coleman was actually rendered breathless. The Mercury's glutton-at-large is crazy in love with Tasty's offerings both familiar (French toast, cast-iron fritattas) and not (the Burmese pork red stew is described as "Hot, fatty, fleshy, rich — an equatorial love affair in a bowl"). Meanwhile, Willamette Week's resident film critic Aaron Mesh — who's enjoyed breakfast at Tasty's six days over the past month — also declares its brunch "transformative": "I have seen the future of breakfast, and his name is John Gorham." Word of advice? Head over now before word spreads (and the inevitable lines out the door) start to form.
