NORTHWEST: The Nook Cafe, an espresso and cocktail bar on NW 23rd, celebrated its opening last Thursday. In addition to coffee drinks and whiskey cocktails, the sprawling indoor and outdoor space serves up standard cafe fare, including soups, salads, and sandwiches.
NORTHEAST: City State Diner, in the former WineDown space on NE 28th, also bowed on Thursday — a tipster reports that standard diner fare is available; a visit to the official website leaves much to be desired.
HILLSDALE: GoodStuffNW reports that Kurt Spak's Cafe Autogrill, an Alba Osteria spin-off, debuts today.
