Alberta's Francis Closes, Blames Gentrification Backlash

NE Alberta breakfast spot Francis Restaurant has closed its doors, according to this week's issue of WWeek, and it sounds like they're going down with a fight: According to the quick blurb, the owners gave the neighborhood the closing FYI with "a screed blaming the neighborhood's 'anti-gentrification' forces" for the failure. UPDATE from a tipster Twitter friend: The note posted on Francis' door (by chef/owner Christopher Pierce?) blamed "anarchists for causing him trouble and vandalizing his place continually from day one." It was later taken down.
