HOTDog Opens, Actual Hot Dogs Coming to Mojo Crepes

CENTRAL EASTSIDE INDUSTRIAL: Alan Sprints' prettiful Hair of the Dog Brewery officially opened its doors to the public this past weekend (complete with tables, stools, and chairs. Promise). Also: Bonus points to whoever can come up with a better, more succinct nickname for this 'hood.

DIVISION: Tipsters at report that the unbearably adorable Taiwanese shave ice / Japanese crepe spot Mojo Crepes will start serving Japanese hot dogs, Japadog-style, in the near future. Fingers crossed for Portland takes on the "Special Plum Sauce" version and anything that involves Japanese mayo. []

IN THE PRESS: Food & Wine magazine's "48 Hours in Portland" cheat sheet features a fair share of familiar faces, including F&W Best New Chef winners Gabe Rucker (Le Pigeon) and Scott Dolich (Park Kitchen). Surprising omission: Most recent Best New Chef winner Matt Lightner and his Oregonian 2010 Best Restaurant winner Castagna. Can't win 'em all.
