NORTHEAST: Hoda Khouri, of SE Belmont's decade-old stalwart Hoda's Middle Eastern, has secured a locale for a second outpost — a liquor license application has been filed for the 4700 block of NE Fremont street, next to Cha Cha Cha taqueria. A phone call to Hoda hasn't been answered as of press time, but the new restaurant seems to have the same name as the first, suggesting a straight-up expansion situation is in the works.

SOUTHEAST: FoodDude reports this afternoon that after 56 years in business, Woodstock's Lutz Tavern will permanently close its doors on September 30. The farewell-sounding official website announces that the diviest of dive bars will pour its last beer during a farewell party lasting until 2:30am on October 1.

SOUTHEAST: According to its website, Bridgetown Star Bar, in the SE Morrison space that once housed the Maiden, celebrated its official opening last week. From the owner's opening-day wisdom: "I forgot that drunk people are fun. Drunks are not."
