SOUTHEAST: Andy Ricker, who now seemingly has a hand in half of all Portland's Southeast Asian restaurants, has relinquished his partial ownership at haute burger joint Foster Burger , which debuted last year as a partnership with Daniel Mondok (now at June) and ChefsTable. Karen Brooks reports that Ricker is leaving to launch Naam Som, a company created around his addictive line of drinking vinegars, as well as focusing on upcoming NE takeout joint Pok Pok Noi.
DOWNTOWN: Call it a sign of the times? IACP's 2010 Chef/Restaurateur of the Year Lisa Schroeder announced today that her Mama Mia Trattoria is suspending its lunch service, effective immediately. Business at next-door Mother's Bistro is continuing as usual, and plans to serve Mother's brunch food at Mama Mia Saturday through Monday — decreasing the brunch lines — are in the works.
