PEARL DISTRICT: Pearl wine bar Vino Paradiso is hosting another BYOB dinner (this time, the last "B" stands for Burgundy), where each guest brings a bottle from their own collection to share alongside chef Paul Losch's four-course prix fixe menu. For next Tuesday's dinner (January 25), Losch's menu features sauteed trout, dijon-roasted boar rack, and baked quail eggs to pair with Burgundy; reservations to the $40 dinner required.
DOWNTOWN: The East India Co. Grill celebrates Pongal, a South Indian harvest festival that hails the arrival of spring, all this week (beginning tomorrow, January 14), featuring Pongal specialites like Andhra chicken curry, lentil "donuts," and the eponymous pongal dish, a sweet dessert featuring rice, lentils, and milk. The special Pongal menu will be available until the 22nd.
NORTHEAST: Naomi Pomeroy reveals the meatless menu for Beast's upcoming vegetarian dinner, slated for January 25. Among the six-course offerings: Cream of celery soup, caramelized onion tartlette, gnocchi gratinee with truffle cream, and a salad of beets and braised leeks.
