FoodDude reports this afternoon that every anime-obsessed teenager's favorite birthday destination, the Japanese seafood buffet Todai, has closed its doors.

According to a Yelper, who also reported the shutter: "Went by there on Friday, January 21, and there was a hastily written sign informing you of their permanent closure. It literally looked like they locked the door after some recent evening's business and just left." (Phone calls have gone unanswered, and the Dude notes the Portland branch's official site is also MIA.) The all-you-can-eat sushi chain had occupied its space inside Pioneer Place mall since 2000.
