More legal woes for locally-owned Thai restaurant chain Typhoon!: In addition to pending civil rights complaints filed by the Oregon Labor Commission last fall, the Oregonian reported yesterday that the IRS has filed a lien against Typhoon!, Inc. to the tune of nearly $1.5 million in unpaid payroll taxes. According to co-owner Steve Kline, who exchanged emails with the O, the group is cooperating with government officials to settle the debts — though Kline and chef/owner Bo Kline have long denied the labor allegations.

Typhoon!, Inc. owns seven namesake restaurants in the metro area, in addition to downtown's Bo Restobar. Its newest spot, a Typhoon! in West Linn, opened in October.
