PEARL DISTRICT: Pizza chain Mellow Mushroom has announced an opening date for its Pearl District location (the first MM on the west coast): According to a press release, the spot will open its doors on Monday, October 17, featuring a menu of "pizzas, hoagies, salads, calzones, and appetizers." Also of note: A "beer club" of some kind that entices drinkers to "make your way through 100 craft beers, while receiving unique rewards along the way." [EaterWire]

NORTHEAST: It has come to Eater's attention that Podnah's Pit-boss Rodney Muirhead has unveiled a new, recurring list of daily specials that reads as follows: Monday, smoked meat loaf; Tuesday, pork ribs and draft beer; Wednesday, fried chicken; Thursday, smoked lamb, Friday, fried catfish; Saturday, smoked prime rib. You're welcome. [EaterWire]

NORTHWEST: NW community kitchen/take-out pantry Salt, Fire, and Time announced a temporary closure due to a kitchen accident last week. Owner Tressa Yelig writes in an e-mail blast: "There was no real structural damage, most of the trouble is smoke damage that took our entire inventory, some of the equipment and most importantly, lots of time to deal with." The space will remain closed at least through the end of the week. [EaterWire]
