Guild Public House to Shutter After Farewell Events

New, 3 comments

Former politico and current pub proprietor Jesse Cornett will close up shop on his Guild Public House next Saturday, Oct. 29. Interestingly enough, the date just so happens to coincide with his already pre-scheduled birthday celebration. And, says Cornett, "the party is still on."

Until then, Cornett says that the Guild — which opened in January of this year — will continue with the scheduled Beer Film Fest tonight, and next Thursday night, October 27, Astoria's Ft. George Brewing will be in town for the Guild's own little Astoria Cans Film Fest ($2 cans of their 1811 Lager and $3 cans of Vortex IPA). As part of the farewell celebration, the Guild will offer select pints for $2 and fill growlers for $5 all next week. Says Cornett: "The plan is to have a big party and, once its over, will close up the doors and move on to the next project."
