Kevin Sandri's secret follow-up gig to Garden State has been revealed: Sandri will head the kitchen at start-up Farm to Fit, a Jenny Craig-like "diet meal service that is calorie based/portion controlled, always fresh and as local as possible," according to founder G. Scott Brown. (Unlike Jenny Craig, all meals arrive freshly cooked and not frozen.) And Sandri isn't the only Portland-based chef in on the program: According to the announcement, Beard-nominated chef Chris Israel (Gruner) is also on board in a consultant role, adding additional recipes to the service's repertoire.
For those interested in receiving fresh meals without the silly diet component, meals will be available in three calorie "sizes," with the largest one topping out a 2,000 calories per day, and a sample menu features a daily meal plan of pancakes with apple compote, Garden State's seriously addictive chicken sandwich, and salmon kabobs. Farm to Fit is scheduled to officially launch on November 1.
