In a week overflowing with openings, three more spots are certified open:
MILWAUKIE: Former Carafe Bistro chef/owner Pascal Sauton has swung the doors open at his deli counter/coffeeshop/specialty grocery store Milwaukie Kitchen & Wine, and as promised, the space offers a variety of eating experiences. A morning cafe/coffeeshop features breakfast sandwiches and egg dishes; a deli counter with to-go soups, cold salads, and rotating dinner entrees to-go (lamb and caramelized onion shepard’s pie, Boeuf Bourguignon, and roasted pork loin). The Sugar Cube's Kir Jensen provides pastries and desserts, and an early class calendar has been posted online. Everyday hours moving forward: 8am-7pm, daily.
CENTRAL EASTSIDE INDUSTRIAL: The east side's Red Slate Wine Co. branches out with this weekend's opening of Ambonnay, an all-Champagne bar inside the Olympic Mills Commerce Center. In addition to bubbly, the spot will cook up an all-vegetarian small plates to pair with flights.
SELLWOOD: NW 23rd's tea bar Tea Chai Te has opened a second location inside Sellwood's iconic red caboose on SE 13th Avenue. The tea shop offers more than 120 tea varieties, as well as pastries by local spots Two Tarts Bakery, Pie Spot, and Black Sheep Bakery. Hours of operation: 9am-10pm daily.
