The New York Times' Eric Asimov heads up a tasting panel in search of the world's best sour beers (because "referring to a genre as sour beer practically challenges beer lovers to test its worthiness"), obvs. And a Portland-based brewery ultimately shows the Belgians how it's done: Cascade Brewing's 2010 Kriek Ale emerges on top, deemed "beautifully tart and richly complex, with just a hint of fruit flavor for balance."
