And now, this week's Event Planning EaterWire:
N. WILLIAMS: Lincoln's recurring Bar Camp series, which combines informal mixology lessons with a festive family-style dinner-and-drink session, features a special guest star for its next installment, scheduled for this Saturday (December 17). Christian Krogstad, distiller and owner of House Spirits Distillery, will be on-hand to help shake up holiday-themed cocktails. Reservations to the $125 camp are required and available by calling the restaurant.
NORTH PORTLAND: N. Killingsworth beer den Hop & Vine holds a special tasting this Thursday with Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., in an event that also doubles as a fundraiser for Oregon Food Bank and Portland Metro Toy Drive. Guests who pony up the one non-perishable food item entrance fee get access to eight rare Sierra Nevada beers, including "Life & Limb," a collaboration between Sierra Nevada and Dogfish Head, and the "Black Hop Rising," a blend of German black lager and an American black IPA. The event starts at 5pm, more information here.
SOUTHEAST: Sommelier Michael Garofola whips out the good Cabernet during a three-course tasting and pairing dinner at Genoa, scheduled for Sunday, December 18. Tipplers will taste seven rare wines from Clos Rougeard of Saumur-Champigny during dinner, and a kick-off cocktail hour will feature hors d'ouevres and pours of Champagne Agrapart. Reservations to the $140 event required and available by calling the restaurant.
