Former Castagna chef Matt Lightner made an appearance at the famous "12 Days of Christmas" celebration at Napa Valley restaurant Meadowood, and dropped some hints about his upcoming New York City restaurant Atera. The menu — which he previewed at the Meadowood event — looks not far removed from his Castagna days (a star dish is described as "beet coated in ash, served atop sea urchin and a smooth whip of 'crustacean emulsion'"), and the restaurant's projected opening has been pushed back to hopefully sometime later this winter. Eater National has the event recap, complete with food porn. [-EN-]
