Food Stamps at Starbucks

Investigative reporters down in Salem were shocked — shocked! — to discover that one might use an Oregon Trail Card to buy "luxury drink" Frappuccinos at Starbucks. Apparently it only worked because the Starbucks was in a grocery store; employees said "as the beverage is cold or an approved food, which includes sweets, it would be allowed. Certain additions, such as syrup, are not allowed." Got that? No syrup. [KPTV via Eater National]
