The Typhoon! legal saga continues: The Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries announced yesterday that it has filed formal charges against the Tigard-based chain and owner Bo Kline for allegedly discriminating against its Thai employees. Labor commissioner Brad Akavian first filed a complaint on behalf of those employees in September 2010, and after an investigation, state regulators determined in May of this year that Typhoon! violated state wage-and-hour laws and anti-discrimination laws. Regulators are seeking $2 million in damages on behalf of 11 workers. [OregonLive]
