Kim Boyce's Bakeshop Opens on NE Sandy

New, 11 comments

[Avila, 12/28/11]

Former Spago and Campanile pastry chef Kim Boyce immediately made a splash upon her move to Portland last summer — in addition to bringing along husband Thomas Boyce (who's now collecting enthusiastic reviews at Bluehour), Boyce has picked up a 2011 James Beard Award for her cookbook Good to the Grain, and her pastries have appeared on the cover of Bon Appetit.

And now, after a series of delays, Boyce's long-awaited Bakeshop has swung its doors open in NE, offering a wide range of pastries: scones (like figgy buckwheat; maple; and chocolate orange pecan), muffins (corn and gruyere; sweet potato date), tea cakes, and specialities like salted peanut honeycombs and spiced caramel corn. Boyce's Bakeshop is now open, 7am-2pm.
