It's last call for Year-End best of lists, and restaurant critics at both the Oregonian and Portland Mercury have dropped their "Best Dishes of the Year" lists. At the O, both Michael Russell and David Sarasohn name dishes from St. Jack among the year's best (per Russell, its fisherman's stew is "a perfect dish for a rainy night"), while Sarasohn also reminisces about Dungeness crab toast at Allium, duck confit at Little Bird, and Wildwood's hazelnut poundcake pain perdu for dessert. In the pages of the Merc, food editor Tony Perez heaps more praise on St. Jack, while also naming (the now-shuttered) Alder Pastry & Dessert and Dig a Pony the best dessert spot and best new bar, respectively.
